Order of Layer Generation

When creating a subsoil model, the terrain is generated before other interfaces between layers. If the interface lays over the terrain, it is "cut".

After the terrain, interfaces are generated from the top to the bottom and the individual interfaces are always cut by the previous interface.

This process is clear, but it is not always appropriate for more complex tasks. Typical example is the rock covered by layers of sediments.

Model of outcrop - order of generation is 4-5, 1-2, 2-3, 3-4

Interface between green soil and grey rock subsoil is generated as first after the terrain. We reach this state using change of order in layer generation.

The same model with original order of layer generation - 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-5

The same model with changed order of layer generation 4-5, 2-3, 3-4, 1-2

The possibility of changing layer generation order is important when modeling geological faults. This way it is possible to model more individual models in one task - individual models are seperated by faults generated as first - then the other layers are generated. It is also possible to specify smoothing of the layers - again it is conviently for fault generating.
